Cable Supplier Selected

Walney Extension’s developer awarded NKT a contract to design, manufacture and commission two 220 kV extruded export cable systems and an associated underground cable system connecting the 659 MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm to the onshore power grid, forming the core export transmission link that would later be transferred into the Walney Extension OFTO. The contract scope covered delivery of the high‑voltage subsea export cables and onshore connection, making NKT the main cable supplier for the project’s transmission assets.
