In 1973 a 10 kV submarine electrical cable of type DKRA 3x35 mm² Cu was laid between Vis and Biševo, from the Gnjilina bay near cape Stupišće on Vis to Mezoporat bay on Biševo, completing the island’s electrification and bringing it into full operational service. This interconnection realised the long-standing wish of Biševo’s inhabitants to be connected to the mainland power system.
