Replacement of one of three 33 kV export circuits (~3 km subsea export cable) between Scroby Sands Offshore Wind Farm and the Great Yarmouth landfall.
Eon UK contracted Norwegian subsea cable supplier Scanrope Subsea to manufacture and deliver a replacement 33 kV export cable for the Scroby Sands export connection. The new submarine cable, approximately 3 km in length, was ordered after one of the three original export circuits suffered persistent faults and failed completely in 2007, constraining the wind farm’s maximum export capacity. The contract covered production and delivery of the new export cable for installation around early 2008, with the damaged cable to be removed and the seabed allowed to settle before laying the replacement.
