In 2001 Copenhagen Utility, which held a 50% ownership stake in the Middelgrunden offshore wind project and its 30kV subsea export cable, merged with E2 Energi. As a result of this corporate merger, E2 Energi became the utility-side owner of the project, effectively taking over Copenhagen Utility’s 50% stake alongside the unchanged 50% cooperative ownership.
