As part of Phase B of the Cyclades Interconnection, which was inaugurated on 13 October 2020 with the energisation of Naxos into the high‑voltage system, the power supply of the Small Cyclades islands Heraklia, Schinoussa and Koufonisia – including the Koufonisi‑Schinoussa submarine link – was reported as being upgraded to improve their electricity supply from the mainland via Paros/Naxos.
