Prysmian was contracted by Cobra Wind International Ltd to design and supply two 33 kV three-core submarine export cables for Kincardine, each manufactured as a single length to run along an approximate 17 km route, including about 0.5 km of dynamic cable to connect the floating turbine tower to the static cable section.
Prysmian Group was awarded a contract by Cobra Wind International Ltd to design and supply the subsea export cable system for the Kincardine floating offshore wind farm’s 33 kV export connection to shore. The scope covered engineering and manufacture of two 33 kV three‑core submarine export cables, each produced as a single length of approximately 17 km combining a static section and a 0.5 km dynamic section to connect the floating turbines to the Scottish mainland grid, plus associated accessories. Cables for the export system were manufactured at Prysmian’s Vilanova (Spain) and Drammen (Norway) plants, with installation scheduled over 2018–2019.
