Global Offshore used the vessel Global Symphony to install around 18 km of the Kincardine export power cable, including laying with a dynamic riser and trenching the cable from Cove to the 2 MW Vestas floating turbine.
Global Offshore, part of the Global Marine Group, carried out the offshore installation of the first Kincardine export power cable. Using its multi-purpose vessel Global Symphony, the company installed approximately 18 km of export cable between the landfall at Cove and the 2 MW Vestas floating turbine. The work scope comprised pre-installation surveys, grapnel runs, laying of the export cable with a dynamic riser to accommodate platform motions, and trenching/burial along the export route. The campaign was completed over a few weeks in 2018 as part of the project’s initial export connection.
