Description
Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke (NSW) was awarded a contract by TenneT TSO GmbH to supply and install two 13 km 155 kV AC submarine transmission cables to connect the MEG 1 offshore wind farm transformer platform to the DolWin alpha converter platform. The turnkey scope includes manufacturing the AC export cables, offshore laying in water depths of 25–34 m, simultaneous lay-and-burial up to two metres into the seabed, and use of a DP2 vessel and NSW installation equipment. These AC cables form part of the DolWin1 grid connection, exporting MEG 1 power into the 800 MW HVDC link.
