For TenneT’s DolWin1 HVDC project, Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW) was contracted to supply and install two 13‑kilometre 155 kV AC submarine transmission cables linking the MEG 1 offshore wind park transformer platform to the DolWin alpha converter station. Cable production was scheduled to begin in 2012, with installation of the cables planned for the first half of 2013 using a chartered DP2 vessel and simultaneous lay‑and‑burial operations in water depths of 25–34 metres, with burial up to two metres into the seabed.
