Alstom was awarded a turnkey contract of around EUR 35 million by Greek transmission system operator ADMIE for the supply of four 150 kV gas‑insulated switchgear (GIS) substations associated with the Cyclades interconnection project. Phase A of this project includes the radial 150 kV link from Syros to Mykonos and the construction of new GIS substations on Syros, Paros and Mykonos, together with connection works at Lavrio and Tinos. Under the contract, Alstom provided design, engineering, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of the GIS substations, enabling the islands’ loads to be supplied from the mainland HETS system instead of local diesel generation. This substation package formed the onshore grid interface for the Syros–Mykonos radial and related Phase A links, supporting their energisation in early 2018. [Note: quantity of 2 refers to the substations on this specific link (Syros and Mykonos), not the full Phase A programme of 4 substations.]
