Description
VBMS, part of a consortium with NKT Cables, was awarded a contract by Dutch TSO TenneT to install two 220 kV export cables for the 700 MW Borssele Alpha offshore grid connection linking Borssele I & II to the onshore grid near the existing Borssele substation in Zeeland. The scope covered installation of the two 61 km export cables routed via the Western Scheldt estuary, including landfall works and connection towards the onshore station. VBMS’ share of the contract was stated as approximately EUR 70 million.
