On 15 May 2006, Belwind submitted an application for the marine environmental permit required for the construction and operation of the Belwind offshore wind farm on the Bligh Bank in the Belgian part of the North Sea. This project includes an offshore high-voltage station and a 150 kV submarine export cable of about 52 km that transmits power from the Bligh Bank to shore at Zeebrugge, as described in project overviews and technical documentation.
