In 2010, installation activities for the Belwind Phase 1 export cable began, with Nexans’ cable-laying vessel C/S Nexans Skagerrak deployed under Van Oord’s balance-of-plant contract to lay the approximately 52 km, 170 kV subsea export cable connecting the Belwind offshore high-voltage station on Bligh Bank to the Belgian power network near Zeebrugge.
