NDEAVOR is a DP-2 diesel-electric multi-purpose vessel built in 2013 by Samsung C&T Corporation and ZPMC - Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd in Shanghai, classed by Lloyd’s Register and registered under the flag of Cyprus. It is owned through BW Marine Cyprus Ltd, with fleet and commercial management provided by Boskalis Offshore Fleet Management and Koninklijke Boskalis BV, and is presented in multiple Boskalis equipment sheets as Boskalis NDEAVOR. The design incorporates a Lloyd’s Register class notation for a special service multi-purpose vessel with unrestricted navigation, dynamic positioning (DYNAPOS AM/AT R), and offshore multifunctional accommodation barge capabilities with a bottom strengthened for loading and unloading aground. Technically, NDEAVOR features diesel-electric propulsion, DP-2 station keeping, a 6-point mooring system, accommodation for up to 98 persons, and a helideck rated for 10 tonnes with a 20 m D-value for Super Puma AS332L2 operations. The vessel can be outfitted with a 2,000 t cable turntable, cable handling spread, construction support crane, fallpipe for subsea rock placement, deepwater seabed excavation system, and side stone dumping installation, making it adaptable as a construction support vessel, multipurpose vessel, or cable laying vessel. Market-wise, NDEAVOR operates in offshore energy sectors including subsea rock installation, dredging support, and cable laying; it has been used on projects such as the Malampaya Phase 3 project in the Philippines and subsea rock installation for the Ichthys project near Darwin, Australia.
Diesel electric propulsion system with DP-2 dynamic positioning, total installed power 7,500 kW, main engines rated 7,280 kW, driving 2 x 1,250 kW and 2 x 1,000 kW azimuth thrusters plus a 550 kW bow thruster.
