A detailed geophysical survey for the Western HVDC Link was scheduled to commence in late February 2015 (extending into March 2015) in the Beaufort Dyke area of the cable corridor. The campaign was planned to use a survey vessel (Stril Explorer) deploying multibeam/sonar systems and an ROV to map seabed conditions and identify obstructions ahead of installation. The work was notified to mariners via a Notice to Mariners to manage co-use of the area.
