Prysmian began a planned deep-water cable-laying campaign for the Western HVDC Link at the start of July 2016. The campaign covered a ~120 km section in the North Channel of the Irish Sea between Scotland and Northern Ireland. Prysmian mobilised its cable-laying vessel Giulio Verne to lay the HVDC cables, with burial operations to be completed by a plough and survey/support vessel (Go Pegasus) following the lay. Notices to mariners and contractor updates signalled the commencement of this third deep-water installation campaign in early July 2016.
