With Ofgem’s grant of an offshore transmission licence to WoDS Transmission plc for the West of Duddon Sands transmission link, the project secured its regulated revenue regime under the UK OFTO framework. The licence provides a stable 20‑year revenue stream for operating the £269 million link, independent of wind farm generation output, and contributes to the more than £2.5 billion of new transmission investment attracted by the OFTO regime up to that date.
