Waterkant Energy GmbH, backed by Luxcara, was awarded the rights in the German offshore wind auction to develop the Waterkant offshore wind farm of around 270–300 MW on centrally pre-investigated site N-6.7 in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, approximately 90 km off the island of Borkum, in an auction that for the first time also assessed social and environmental criteria.
