FATA, part of the Danieli group, is Siemens Energy’s consortium partner for the Tyrrhenian Link HVDC interconnector and shares in an approximately €1 billion contract awarded by Terna for four onshore converter stations. While Siemens Energy provides the HVDC technology and key electrical components, FATA is responsible for delivering the converter station works on the ground. Its scope includes civil works, electromechanical installation of Siemens Energy’s equipment, construction of ancillary facilities and buildings, and support to pre-commissioning at all four converter station sites located at the ends of the East (Campania–Sicily) and West (Sicily–Sardinia) sections. Working with Italian construction sub‑contractors, FATA’s role covers the full construction phase of the converter stations up to handover to Terna, with completion targeted by the end of 2028.
