In 1995, Midtkraft Power Company commenced and carried out offshore construction of the Tunø Knob Offshore Wind Farm as Denmark's second offshore wind project, installing ten pitch‑regulated Vestas V39 500 kW turbines on box caisson foundations in shallow waters about 6 km off the Jutland coast under a very tight schedule as a demonstration project focused on environmental impacts.
