Offshore construction of the 200 MW Trianel Windpark Borkum (Phase 1) began in September 2011, marking the start of installation works for the first phase of the municipal offshore wind farm located about 45 km north of Borkum. The phase comprises 40 Areva/Adwen M5000-116 turbines on tripod foundations and is part of a two-phase, 400 MW development in the German North Sea.
