SeaTerra completed an unexploded ordnance (UXO) campaign at the Trianel Windpark Borkum II offshore wind farm site, including UXO survey, target investigation and in-situ disposal of identified ordnance. The work followed comprehensive geophysical surveys of approximately 427 hectares covering wind turbine locations, infield cable routes and anchor areas, using high-resolution magnetometer array systems (ROTV) and ROV-based methods. SeaTerra identified 11 major UXO targets (including buoyant mines, ground mines, a depth charge and a bomb) and investigated and cleared 288 potentially dangerous objects using remote-controlled devices, cranes and ordnance divers, with mitigation measures such as scaring devices and a big bubble curtain to reduce noise impacts.
