By mid-April 2018, the export subsea cable for Trianel Windpark Borkum II had been laid on the seabed and pulled in at both ends, completing installation of the second export cable between TenneT’s DolWin alpha converter platform and the wind farm’s existing internal substation. Using the 115‑metre cable laying vessel Willem de Vlamingh, the 7.3 km HVAC cable was installed with a transport capacity of 200 MW, providing the grid connection for TWB II and additional security of supply for the existing Trianel Windpark Borkum.
