Description
Jan De Nul Group, in partnership with Hellenic Cables, was awarded by RWE the turnkey delivery of the Thor offshore wind farm cable package, covering both the export and inter-array cable systems. Jan De Nul was responsible for transportation, laying and burial of the subsea cable systems and, per the project supplier disclosures, the consortium also delivered and installed the onshore cable section from the landfall to the onshore substation. The export system comprised two 275 kV HVAC export cables (each 30 km offshore and 13 km onshore), and the package included approximately 200 km of 66 kV inter-array cables.
