Description
Sollatek supplied two Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) for the onshore substation associated with the Thanet offshore transmission connection at Richborough. The AVRs were used to regulate and stabilise the low-voltage auxiliary supply feeding the substation’s control equipment and ancillary appliances, with one AVR operating and the other acting as a switchable backup. Each AVR was described as a three-phase unit rated at 450 amps per phase.
