Offshore construction at the Teesside offshore wind farm commenced on 6 February 2012, when Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects began installing the first of 27 monopile foundations at the site between the mouth of the River Tees and Redcar. This marked the start of offshore installation works for EDF Energy Renewables’ project, ahead of subsequent transition piece, turbine and cable installation phases.
