On 8 July 2025, the Director of the Maritime Office in Gdynia issued an order establishing a 250‑metre‑wide security zone along both sides of the SwePol Link submarine cable between Sweden and Poland, prohibiting trawling, fishing, water sports, diving, anchoring and any underwater work not commissioned by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, with the restrictions coming into force on 24 July to better protect this 600 MW HVDC interconnector.
