In April 2007, PSE PÓŁNOC, a Polish grid company, began operating the SwePol Link cable and the converter station on the Swedish side after winning a competitive tender, adding to its existing responsibility for the technical operation and maintenance of the cable since the link’s inception. This consolidated operational control of the 600 MW HVDC interconnector across both Polish and Swedish assets under PSE PÓŁNOC.
