Installation of the SwePol Link’s 450 kV, 600 MW HVDC submarine and underground cable system between Sweden and Poland began in 1999, as part of a turnkey contract under which NKT designed, manufactured, laid, and protected the cable at sea and carried out all land cable installation over the 1999–2000 project duration.
