DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): Commissioning of the new Spanager, Vordingborg Nord and Orehoved 132 kV substations is directly tied to completion and energisation of the ORH-SPA cable connection. Energinet’s 2023 project description anticipated idriftsættelse of the cable by end-2025, but the environmental assessment process only commenced in late 2023 and there is no evidence by April 2026 of final environmental approvals or significant station/cable civil works. Earlier milestones (onshore construction start and subsea cable installation) have slipped several years relative to the original schedule. Since substation commissioning cannot credibly precede cable completion and system testing, the previous 2027-12-31 commissioning date is no longer realistic. In line with the revised COD projection, the commissioning of the substations is pushed to 2029 (end-year placeholder), still referencing Energinet’s original ‘ultimo 2025’ target as the baseline. DELAYED +1yr (Apr 2026): Commissioning of the new ORH‑SPA 132 kV connection and substations at Spanager, Vordingborg Nord and Orehoved was previously expected by 2025/26. Energinet's 2024 Geografisk projektliste shifts the combined "132 kV Lolland og Sydsjælland fase 3+4 (…Vordingborg Nord‑Orehoved…)" package to idriftsættelse 2027, so substation commissioning is moved to late 2027. --- Energinet plans to complete commissioning of the new 132 kV connection between Spanager, Vordingborg Nord and Orehoved, including the newly established high-voltage substations at Vordingborg Nord, Orehoved and east of Haslev, with the cable connection expected to be in operation in Q4 2026 to reinforce the grid for increased renewable generation in Lolland-Falster and South Zealand.
