DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): Energinet’s ORH-SPA project documents expected the entire 132 kV cable connection, including the Storstrømmen subsea section (ORH–VONØ), to be in service by end-2025. A subsequent ORH–VONØ Offshore works contract has been awarded, but there is no public evidence by April 2026 that seabed surveys, environmental approvals and onshore construction have progressed far enough to allow subsea cable installation to start in early 2026. With the environmental assessment process only starting in late 2023 and land construction realistically not beginning until around 2027, the offshore installation campaign will likely follow later. The cable installation start is therefore shifted to approximately spring 2028 to align with a more realistic overall project schedule. --- Energinet Eltransmission plans to begin offshore installation of two 7 km submarine cable circuits across the Storstrømmen strait between South Zealand and Falster under the ORH‑VONØ Offshore works contract, with the cable laying and protection works expected to take place in 2026.
