Baseline ecological monitoring for harbour porpoises using passive acoustic dataloggers (T-PODs) started north of Sprogø in April 2008, ahead of construction of the Sprogø offshore wind farm. The study, commissioned to support the Environmental Impact Assessment, established two monitoring stations within the planned wind farm area and two in a reference area further north in the Great Belt, and collected data through the 2008 season as the first phase of a Before-After-Control-Impact (BACI) programme.
