Offshore construction of the Sprogø offshore wind farm in the Great Belt, north of Sprogø island, began in July 2009. A monitoring study defines a construction period from July to November 2009 between baseline data collection in 2008 and an operational monitoring period in 2010, indicating that installation of the seven 3 MW turbines on concrete gravity foundations and related offshore works started at this time within the Natura 2000 area.
