Design, manufacturing, supply and installation of approximately 30 km of 150 kV submarine and associated underground transmission cable system for the Mantoudi–Skiathos interconnection.
IPTO S.A. awarded Hellenic Cables SA a €42.8 million contract for the Mantoudi–Skiathos section of the Skiathos interconnection. Together with its subsidiary Fulgor, Hellenic Cables was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the 150 kV transmission cable system comprising submarine and underground cables in Evia and Skiathos. The scope included design and manufacturing of about 30 km of 150 kV HVAC submarine cable, subsea installation and protection, underground landfall sections, jointing, testing and connection to the 150 kV transmission system in the Mantoudi area. Construction began in early 2020 with an implementation period of around 20 months, enabling the first high-voltage interconnection of Skiathos and improving security of supply for the Northern Sporades islands.
