IPTO’s 23 Dec 2019 press release on the Skiathos interconnection explains that construction of the Mantoudi–Skiathos link (including underground and submarine 150 kV cables and the Skiathos substation) will begin in January 2020 with a 20‑month implementation timeframe. A February 2020 Global Transmission summary further reports the interconnection as "under implementation" by late February 2020. This supports treating the onshore construction start as occurring approximately in January 2020.
