DELAYED +1yr (Apr 2026): Earlier expectations had Shelmalere applying for grid connection in the early‑mid 2020s and accepting an offer around 2028, aligned with a 2030 operational date. As of April 2026, there is no evidence of a grid offer or even an application; the project is still in scoping/MAC‑seeking stages and is treated as a Phase 2 project with an indicative 2030 operation target. With MAC and planning consent milestones now drifting into the late 2020s/around 2030, the grid offer is unlikely before the early 2030s. I place grid‑offer acceptance around 2032, roughly 2–3 years after a rescheduled 2029 grid application and before an adjusted mid‑2030s first‑power date. DELAYED +4yr (Apr 2026): Earlier project timelines indicated grid offer receipt/acceptance around 2028 after a 2023 grid application. I have shifted the grid application to 2028 to reflect permitting delays. Allowing roughly two years for EirGrid assessment and offer, I move the projected grid‑offer acceptance to 2031. --- An indicative project timeline in the 2022 Shelmalere Offshore Wind Farm brochure shows that receipt of a grid offer for the project’s export connection is planned for 2028, after the grid connection application has been submitted. This milestone would see the transmission system operator issue a grid connection offer defining the terms for exporting up to 1 GW of power from Shelmalere via its offshore export cable corridor and onshore substation into Ireland’s transmission grid.
