In March 2002, a licence under the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA) was granted for the development of the Scroby Sands Offshore Wind Farm in coastal waters off Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, authorising construction of what was then the UK’s first offshore wind farm in coastal waters.
