On 28 November 2015, turbine number 7 at the Paludans Flak / Samsø offshore wind farm collapsed after a fracture in the steel tower, causing the nacelle and blades to fall into the sea. As a result, the 10‑turbine, 2.3 MW Siemens/Bonus array south of Samsø was completely shut down while the failed turbine was written off as a total loss and investigations into the cause were initiated.
