Provision and installation of IXOSIL high‑voltage joints and outdoor terminations connecting two three‑phase 400 kV submarine cables to land cables on both shores for the Rio–Antirrion land–sea interconnection, as part of IPTO’s 400 kV grid expansion.
PFISTERER supplied and installed high‑voltage cable accessories for the Rio–Antirrion 400 kV land–sea interconnection in a joint extra‑high‑voltage project with Hellenic Cables for IPTO. The company engineered, manufactured and delivered IXOSIL transition joints, other joints at intervals along the land cables, and outdoor terminations to connect the two three‑phase submarine cables to the underground 400 kV circuits on both shores. PFISTERER’s own EHV‑trained installers executed the installation of these joints and terminations, ensuring reliable transitions between differing cable diameters and integrating fibre‑optic equipped phases for monitoring, thereby securing the mechanical and electrical integrity of the new 400 kV link in a seismically active strait.
