Offshore-Windpark RIFFGAT GmbH & Co. KG awarded the Strukton-Hollandia Joint Venture a turnkey contract in March 2011 to deliver the 33/155 kV offshore high-voltage transformer substation serving the Riffgat grid connection. The JV, formed by Strukton Systems BV and Hollandia BV, was responsible for engineering and detailed design of the offshore substation, fabrication of the topside and jacket, and the offshore transport, installation, hook-up and commissioning. The platform collects power from the 30 Riffgat turbines at 33 kV and steps it up to 155 kV for export via the Riffgat AC grid connection to the German onshore transmission system.
