Smulders, as part of the HSI Joint Venture (with HSM Offshore Energy and Iv), was awarded an EPCIC contract by Belgian TSO Elia Transmission Belgium for the Modular Offshore Grid 2 (MOG2) on Princess Elisabeth Island. The scope includes the further design and construction of four high-voltage AC offshore substations (two 1,050 MW and two 700 MW), plus associated modules. Smulders executes prefabrication works using its Belgian branches and performs final assembly activities at its Vlissingen yard, contributing to the delivery and subsequent installation of the substations and modules on the energy island (installation planned from 2027).
