Smulders, as a member of the HSI Joint Venture (with HSM Offshore Energy and Iv), is the prefabrication contractor for the Modular Offshore Grid 2 (MOG II) EPCIC contract from Belgian TSO Elia, covering the four high-voltage AC offshore substations (2 × 1,050 MW + 2 × 700 MW), one facility module and one garage on the Princess Elisabeth Island. Per the HSI press release, Smulders performs prefabrication works at its Belgian branches. Final assembly and integration occur at the HSM Offshore Energy yard in Schiedam (and the Smulders Vlissingen yard) — installation on the island from 2027. Construction started May 2025.
