LS Cable & System, working in consortium with Jan De Nul Group (cable installer, separate role), was awarded one of the two HVAC export cable contracts for the Princess Elisabeth Island energy island by Belgian TSO Elia. LS Cable & System's scope: design and production of three 220 kV HVAC subsea cables (165 km combined, manufactured at LS Cable's South Korea plant) connecting Princess Elisabeth Island to the Belgian high-voltage onshore grid. Installation planned for 2028. The parallel 165 km HVAC cable lot (install 2027) was awarded to a DEME + Hellenic Cables consortium (separate roles). Combined PEI HVAC export scope: 330 km across both lots.
