Jan De Nul Group, in consortium with LS Cable & System, was awarded a contract to deliver works for three 220 kV HVAC subsea cables connecting Princess Elisabeth Island to the Belgian coast. Jan De Nul Group's scope includes transportation, installation and protection of the subsea cables between the island and the Belgian coast, with installation planned for 2028. The company will also perform pre-installation seabed levelling using trailing suction hopper dredgers prior to cable laying, and intends to deploy cable-laying vessels Connector and Willem de Vlamingh and the offshore support vessel Adhemar de Saint-Venant for the works.
