In 1992, HEP ODS installed the original 35 kV three‑core submarine cable between Čaklje near Podgora on the mainland (fed from substation TS 35/10 kV Podgora) and the bay Mala Pogorila on the island of Hvar (KK 35 kV Mala Pogorila). The ageing XHE 48/35 3X1X50/16 mm² cable was about 12,054 m long and provided the first medium‑voltage submarine link on this route.
