Phase B of the Cyclades Interconnection includes the Paros - Naxos connection with a submarine tripolar 150 kV cable of 7.6 km length, forming part of the high‑voltage ring that connects Naxos to the mainland grid via Paros.
Hellenic Cables supplied the high voltage submarine power cable system for Phase B of the Cyclades Interconnection, which included the new 150 kV AC link between Paros and Naxos. Under a contract awarded in 2018 by Greek TSO ADMIE, the company undertook design, manufacturing, installation, protection, termination and testing of about 52 km of three-core XLPE-insulated 150 kV submarine cables with integrated fibre optics for the Phase B island links. This scope covered the Naxos–Paros and Naxos–Mykonos connections, thereby providing Naxos with a high‑voltage connection into the mainland grid via Paros. Cable production took place at Hellenic Cables’ Corinth plant in Greece, and the project contributed to the completion of Phase B in 2020, significantly improving the reliability of electricity supply to Naxos and neighbouring islands.
