On 11 February 2011, a Greek ministerial decision (FA/E 3.2/57/3) formally listed the "Interconnection of Cyclades islands with the National Mainland Interconnected Transmission System"—which includes Phase B works such as the 150 kV submarine cable link between Paros and Naxos and associated substation infrastructure—as a key electricity project to be financed from state resources. The decision specifies that the project is funded by EU structural funds with co-financing from the national budget via the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), thereby granting capital support to ADMIE for the Cyclades interconnection, including the Paros–Naxos 150 kV HVAC cable segment.
