In June 2002, the Dutch government selected the site for Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee and, through a competitive tender, awarded the project to the NoordzeeWind joint venture of Shell and Nuon/Vattenfall, combining development of the wind farm with the NSW-MEP monitoring and evaluation programme.
