On 6 May 2025, Shell NoordzeeWind and Google signed a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the full 108 MW output of the Egmond aan Zee Offshore Wind Farm, securing long-term revenue and enabling Shell to obtain Dutch government permits to extend the project’s operational life from the original 2027 end date to 2031, with Google using the electricity to power its Netherlands-based offices and data centres.
