Turnkey contract for Ostwind 3 including 105 km submarine three-core export cable (220 kV) as well as 13.5 km of onshore export cable (220 kV), 2 km platform cable (220 kV) and 2 km platform cable (66 kV).
Hellenic Cables (Cenergy Holdings) was awarded a turnkey contract by German TSO 50Hertz for the Ostwind 3 (OST-1-4) 220 kV export cable system to connect Iberdrola’s Windanker offshore wind farm area to the German extra-high voltage transmission grid. The scope included the design, supply/manufacture, delivery, storage and installation-related works (including jointing, termination, testing and commissioning) for 105 km of 220 kV submarine three-core export cable, 13.5 km of 220 kV onshore export cable, and platform cable packages comprising 2 km of 220 kV and 2 km of 66 kV cables. The submarine cables were to be produced at Hellenic Cables’ Corinth plant and the underground high-voltage cable facility in Thiva, Greece, with production planned to be completed by October 2024 and load-out scheduled in 2025.
