In April 2012, Nexans was awarded a €50m contract to supply 57km of high-voltage subsea power export cables to the wind farm; the OHVS will be connected to the onshore grid by a 220kV submarine export cable transferring a total of 381MW from both wind farms to Zeebrugge.

Description
Nexans was awarded a contract by Northwind to supply high-voltage subsea export cable for the HVAC 220 kV grid connection exporting power from the Northwind offshore high-voltage substation to the onshore grid connection at Zeebrugge as part of the shared export arrangement carrying a combined 381 MW from Northwind and Nobelwind. The scope also included onshore transition joints and electrical accessories.
